Fintech Focus NI 2024 was an event held at City Hall Belfast on January 30th, 2024. It was organised by The Fintech Corridor cluster and sponsored by Belfast City Council, InterTradeIreland and Invest Northern Ireland.
The event provided an opportunity for innovators and businesses building the future of FinTech to network with key stakeholders, from startups to multinationals, academic institutions, and economic development agencies along the Dublin to Belfast Economic Corridor. Showcasing the challenges and the opportunities in both jurisdictions, providing the opportunities to drive development and collaborate through EU and UK Fintech connectivity.
FINE was introduced to the audience by Robert McConnell, the project lead for the FINE project on behalf of The Fintech Corridor. Robert spoke as part of a panel session, discussing why investors should consider fintech investment, why syndicated investment is a good way into the market, and why cross border, pan-European investments provide new opportunities to new and existing investors. Robert also spoke about the desire to see more women, younger people and other underrepresented groups explore fintech investment.
